Volvo In addition to the normal service and inspection items listed below, the Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program includes a diagnostic check of passive and active safety systems. Also included in your scheduled maintenance service is a systems check of the onboard computer monitoring functions.

These regularly scheduled maintenance service checks performed by our shop will help ensure trouble-free operation of your Volvo. All scheduled service is necessary to maintain your vehicle in optimal operating condition and to avoid damage to your vehicle not covered by the warranty. We strongly recommend you take your Volvo to our shop for all service work.

ROUTINE CHECKS, INSPECTIONS AND SERVICES

Every 7,500 Miles

  • Check onboard diagnostic system
  • Engine oil and filter replacement
  • Reset Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)
  • Check/adjust engine coolant, power steering and washer fluid levels
  • Check all wiper blades
  • Check brake fluid level
  • Check brake pads
  • Check tire pressure, wear and condition
  • Rotate tires

Every 15,000 Miles

  • Check onboard diagnostic system
  • Engine oil and filter replacement
  • Reset Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)
  • Check/adjust engine coolant, power steering and washer fluid levels
  • Check battery fluid level, charge and mounting
  • Visual inspection of bevel gear (all wheel drive models only)
  • Check exterior lighting and controls
  • Clean/lubricate power antenna (S40 and C70 Convertible models only)
  • Replace cabin air filter
  • Lubricate hinges, latches and sliding parts on doors, hood, trunk and sunroof
  • Check/adjust parking brake
  • Check all wiper blades
  • Check brake fluid level

Every 22,500 Miles

  • Brake Fluid Change
    • - Recommended if driven in mountainous or humid climates, every one year at owner’s request
    • - Old possibly contaminated (with water) fluid could lead to braking problems
    • - Bleed system, fill with new brake fluid and pressure.
  • Air Filter Cartridge
    • May be necessary to change more frequently when driving in dusty/dirty areas.
    • New filter cartridge helps maintain proper engine operation characteristics.
    • Reduces engine wear by properly filtering harmful dirt and contaminants before air enters the engine
    • Maximizes fuel economy

Every 60,000 Miles

  • Replace Spark Plugs (Except engine VIN code 85)
    • - New spark plugs are specially designed and calibrated to provide optimum engine operation.
    • - Engine is tested on special Volvo equipment after spark plug installation.

Every 75,000 Miles

  • Replace Spark Plugs (Engine VIN code 85)
    • New spark plugs are specially designed and calibrated to provide optimum engine operation.
    • Engine is tested on special Volvo equipment after spark plug installation.

Every 105,000 Miles

  • Replace Auxiliary Drive Belt (Except engine VIN code 85)
    • Helps avoid belt failure while driving

Every 120,000 Miles

  • PCV: Inspect Clean Nipple And Hoses (Turbo models only except S40/V50)
    • - Service interval after first service for all turbo models is every 45,000 miles. No service required on engine VIN code 68.
    • - Maintains proper emission control
  • Replace Fuel Filter
    • Fuel filter is not replaceable on models identified by engine VIN codes 38, 39, 64, and 68.
    • Maintains clean fuel system and helps maintain engine operating efficiency
    • Avoids potential expense of replacement of fuel system components
  • Timing Belt, Tensioner And Idler Pulley: Replace All 5-cylinder models.
    • – Maximum replacement time interval for all engines except engine VIN codes 39 and 64 is 10 years.
    • - Helps avoid belt failure while driving
    • – Models identified by engine VIN codes 39 and 64 sold in California, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and Maine are classified as PZEV vehicles. The timing belt and tensioner replacement interval for these vehicles only is 15 years or 150,000 miles.

Every 150.000 Miles

  • Replace Auxiliary Drive Belt (Engine VIN code 85)
    • - Helps avoid belt failure while driving
